Curb Appeal |
The Importance of Curb Appeal
Curb appeal is extremely important when marketing your home for sale. It is the very first impression the prospective home buyer has of your home. Without good curb appeal, your prospective buyer may never see the inside of your home. Take as much time and as little money as possible to maximize the appearance of your home's exterior by:
-
Keeping the lawn mowed, edged and watered regularly
-
Trimming hedges, weeding lawns and flowerbeds, and pruning trees and bushes regularly
-
Checking the foundation, steps, walkways, walls and patios for cracks
-
Inspecting windows, doors and molding for peeling paint
-
Cleaning and aligning gutters
-
Replacing and repairing loose shingles
-
Making sure all windows open smoothly and screens are not torn
-
During spring and summer months add a few showy annuals near the front entrance
-
Keeping your garage uncluttered and the door closed
-
Storing RVs or old and beaten vehicles elsewhere while the house is on the market
-
Applying a coat of fresh paint to the front door
